Bryan-College Station, TX – The Brazos Valley Bombers announced that today’s scheduled doubleheader in Duncanville against the Deputies has been postponed due to rain. No makeup date has been announced.

The Bombers were begrudgingly prepared to take their two-game winning streak on the road for a three-day, four-game road trip beginning Saturday, but Mother Nature gave them a reprieve. The team will now take a day to rest before embarking Sunday on a more modest two-game road trip to Mineral Wells and Weatherford.

The Bombers will return to Brazos Valley on Wednesday for games against the Denton Outlaws and the Wranglers. Thursday night will mark the return of Thirsty Thursdays, featuring 50-cent 16-ounce soft drinks and one dollar 12-ounce draft beers, sponsored by Jack FM.

The Bombers are members of the nine-team Texas Collegiate League, one of the nation’s premier summer collegiate circuits. Teams like the Bombers bring minor league baseball-style entertainment to communities throughout the country, giving some of the best college players a chance to further their careers in wood bat leagues in front of Major League scouts. The Bombers 48-game inaugural season is underway and runs through early August, followed by league playoffs and a championship series. Tickets are on sale now by calling the Bombers ticket office at (979) 779-PLAY, visiting the Bombers office in Bryan, or logging on to the Bombers’ official web site at www.bvbombers.com.
