GRAND BLANC, Mich. (AP) - Brian Bateman birdied the final hole
for a one-shot victory at the P-G-A's Buick Open.
Bateman, who entered 204th on the money list, gets his first
Tour victory. He closed with a 3-under-69 to beat out Jason Gore,
Justin Leonard and Woody Austin.
Bateman's 15-under total is the highest winning score at Warwick
Hills since 1997.
Jim Furyk (FYOOR'-ihk) and Scott Verplank were in a group of
five that were two shots behind Bateman.
