Astros Win Opener Against Phillies

HOUSTON -- Hunter Pence hit a two-run homer and the Houston
Astros carried a 7-to-3 lead into the ninth inning before holding
off Philadelphia 7-to-5.
Carlos Lee had an R-B-I single and a solo homer to help the
Astros win for the seventh time in their last eight home games.
Craig Biggio went 3-for-5, including a pair of doubles as part of
Houston's eleven-hit attack.
The Astros led 4-to-3 in the seventh before scoring twice on
bases-loaded walks.
Carlos Ruiz smacked a two-run double to get the Phillies within
7-to-5 in the ninth. But Trever Miller got the last two outs for
his first save in three chances.
Pat Burrell and Shane Victorino homered in the Phillies' fifth
loss in seven games.
Woody Williams gave up three runs and six hits in seven innings
to win for only the fourth time in 14 decisions.
The loss goes to 7-and-6 Jamie Moyer, who was reached for four
runs in six innings.
