Pence Provides Early Fireworks Against Phillies

HOUSTON -- Hunter Pence led off the bottom of the 13th with
a homer to give the Houston Astros a 5-to-4 comeback win over
Philadelphia.
Pence provided the Astros' third walk-off homer in the last six
days. Carlos Lee and Mark Loretta did it against Colorado last
Thursday and Friday.
Losing pitcher Jose Mesa served up Pence's tenth homer of the
season, one night after Lee hit a two-run shot off the Phillies
reliever.
Craig Biggio scored the tying run in the ninth when Lee beat out
a potential game-ending double-play grounder. The relay throw
appeared to get Lee by half a step.
Biggio went 2-for-5 with an R-B-I as the Astros won for the
eighth time in their last nine home games.
Matt Albers tossed two shutout innings of relief to get to
2-and-4.
Ryan Howard had two ribbies for the Phillies.
