HOUSTON -- Cole Hamels picked up his tenth win of the season
and Ryan Howard had a two run home run in Philadelphia's 8-to-3 win
over Houston. The Phillies also got home runs from Wes Helms, Jimmy
Rollins and Pat Burrell.
Hamels gave up eight hits and had eight strikeouts in seven
innings to become the first member of the Phillies to have ten wins
by the All Star break since Eric Milton in 2004. Houston starter
Chris Sampson took the loss and fell to 6-and-6. He hasn't won a
game in more than a month.
