Rangers Keep Up Winning Ways

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Marlon Byrd drove in the tiebreaking run
with a sixth-inning single and the Texas Rangers beat the L-A
Angels 4-to-2. The first-place Angels have lost six of their last
Jamey Wright allowed two runs in six innings to even his mark at
2-and-2. Wright gave up five hits, struck out two and walked two.
Texas also got a strong effort from its bullpen. C.J. Wilson
pitched a perfect seventh, Joaquin Benoit struck out the side in the eighth and Eric Gagne retiring all three batters in the ninth for his eleventh save in as any chances.
