Durant Signs With Sonics

SEATTLE -- Former Texas star Kevin Durant signed a multimillion dollar contract today with the Seattle Supersonics.
The SuperSonics chose Durant with the second pick in last week's
N-B-A draft.
The six-foot-nine Durant is a forward who earned Associated
Press college player of the year honors in his one season at Texas.
He also won the Adolph Rupp Trophy, the Naismith Award and the
Wooden Award.
The 18-year-old will make nearly three-point-five (m) million
dollars as a rookie and more than three-point-seven (m) million in
the second year.
The SuperSonics have one-year options for Durant's third and
fourth years.
Durant is in Las Vegas for the N-B-A summer league and will make
his professional debut on Friday when the Sonics face the Dallas
