LONDON -- Switzerland's Fabian Cancellara won today's opening prologue of the Tour de France. Cycling's premier event began with a distinct British accent. The four-point-nine-mile time trial was raced through downtown London.
Cancellara also won the Tour prologue in 2004.
Germany's Andreas Kloeden was the runner-up, with U-S rider George Hincapie finishing third.
The 2007 Tour is being contested under a cloud of doping
suspicions that threatens all of cycling.
Floyd Landis of the U-S is not on hand. He's still appealing a
positive doping test that cost him his 2006 title.
