PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - The Trail Blazers have agreed to terms of
a buyout with Steve Francis. Portland acquired the veteran guard in
a draft night deal with the Knicks, who also sent Channing Frye to
the Blazers. New York got Zach Randolph, Dan Dickau and Fred Jones
in the June 28th swap.
Francis, who was due 34 (m) million dollars over the final two
years of his contract, is expected to clear waivers and become an
unrestricted free agent.
The terms of the buyout with the Blazers were not released.
Francis averaged a career-low eleven-point-three points for the
Knicks last season.
