AUSTIN, Texas – Incoming Texas A&M freshman Sydney Colson was one of two South players to score a game-high 17 points in an 81-74 loss to the North in the Texas Girls Coaches Association Class 5A/4A All-Star Game held on July 12 at Delco Center.
Colson, a 5-foot-8 guard out of Houston’s Westside High School, had two steals, went 9-of-10 from the free throw line and dished out three assists for the game. Teammate Monique Whittaker also added 17 for the South.
No stranger to the All-Star Game circuit this summer, Colson previously led the White team with a game-high 19 points in the TABC All-Star Girls Basketball Game held on May 4 in San Antonio. During her senior season, she was tabbed as the fifth-highest ranked point guard in the country and holds the distinction of being the highest-rated women’s basketball player to ever sign with A&M. Colson was also rated the No. 29 overall prospect in the Class of 2007 by the All-Star Girls Basketball Report.
