ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) - Mark Teixeira homered leading off the eleventh inning in leading the Texas Rangers past the L-A Angels 5-to-4. Teixeira also had an R-B-I double in the eighth.
Justin Speier allowed Teixeira's 13th homer on a three-two
pitch. He's 0-and-1. It came a day after striking out the side in
his first game off the disabled list.
C.J. Wilson got one out for the win to even his mark at 1-and-1.
Eric Gagne, the sixth Texas pitcher, earned his 13th
save in 14 attempts.
Chone Figgins was 3-for-4 with a pair of tiebreaking R-B-I
singles for the Angels. He also stole three bases to break the
Angels' record for career steals.
