MEMPHIS, TN -- The 13 and under College Station Stallions advanced in the frirst round of the Championship Bracket of Super Series National Division National Championships on Wednesday with a 4-0 shutout over the Kansas City Wildcats.
Ford Moore dominated for 5 innings off the mound keeping the Wildcat bats cold with his combinations of fast balls and changeups. Riley Ferrell and Travis Payne of Franklin each provided one inning of relief for the shutout.
The Stallions were stymied offensively until the 6th inning when Riley
Ferrell hit the game winning RBI single with two outs scoring leadoff hitter Ford Moore. Josh Schulman cinched the game with a 3 run home run over the right center fence with two outs.
The College Station Stallions, led by Head Coach Trey Moore, proceeded
through pool play with a 2-1 record. The #6 seeded Stallions will next face the #3 seeded Arizona D-Backs on Thursday morning.
The Super Series National Championship held in Memphis, Tennessee is the top competitive division of tourney baseball. This tourney represents top caliber talent in 23 teams from 11 states.
