COLLEGE STATION -- The start time of the Texas A&M volleyball team’s season opener on Friday, August 24 has been changed to 7 p.m. at G. Rollie White Coliseum.

The Aggies were originally slated to play Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 6:30 p.m. on the first day of the two-day Texas A&M Invitational, but the match has been pushed back 30 minutes to allow students and fans more time to experience the athletic department’s “Warm-Up to Kick-Off”, an event to be held in conjunction with Gig ‘Em Week, a weeklong set of activities designed to welcome and educate the incoming class of Aggie students.

Inflatable games, activities and food will be set up in the Zone at Kyle Field from 4-6:30 p.m. on August 24, and a freshmen class picture will be taken on Simpson Drill Field at 5:30 p.m.

Immediately following the event, freshmen and fans are encouraged to attend the volleyball match, which marks the first official A&M home athletic event of the year.
