HUNTSVILLE – Angela White tossed a two-hitter and first baseman Kayla Gutowski went 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs as Stephen F. Austin shut out Sam Houston Wednesday for a Southland Conference softball series sweep.

First baseman Amy Brown and pitcher Morgan Mikulin produced the only hits for the Bearkats, both singles.

Stephen F. Austin (7-3 3-0 Southland) scored its seven runs on 10 hits and two Bearkat errors. White (5-3) struck out four and walked four as she faced 27 batters in seven innings.

Mikulin (2-7) struck out five Lumberjack batters and gave up three walks.

Sam Houston (4-11 0-3 Southland) heads to San Marcos for a three-game Southland Conference series this weekend.
