Rangers Deal Gagne To Boston

CLEVELAND -- The Boston Red Sox have acquired reliever Eric
Gagne from Texas, according to a person familiar with the talks.
Boston sent left-hander Kason Gabbard and two minor league
outfielders to the Rangers, who earlier in the day shipped reliever
Ron Mahay and switch-hitting slugger Mark Teixeira (teh-SHER'-uh) to Atlanta for rookie catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia and four minor leaguers.
Gagne is finally pitching like his old self following two elbow
operations and back surgery. Once one of baseball's premier
closers, Gagne joins a Boston bullpen that already has two All-Star
relievers: closer Jonathan Papelbon and setup man Hideki Okajima.
