COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M’s Conor Pollock (San Antonio, Texas) has been successful this summer competing as an amateur in recent USTA Men’s Futures Tournaments held in the United States.
Pollock, an All-Big 12 Conference selection and one of the top returning players for the Aggies, posted an impressive 8-3 record in singles competition with notable victories over Canada’s Andrei Nicoara, India’s Vikram Chitkara and Japan’s Yuichi Ito. Pollock reached the quarterfinals twice in events held in Godfrey, Illinois, and Decatur, Illinois.
Pollock also partnered up with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi’s Andrey Kumantsov to capture the doubles title at the Millennium Tennis Club USTA Men’s Futures Tournament held in Joplin, Missouri. In the doubles final, Pollock and Kumantsov defeated Peter Shultz and Stephen Amritraj, 6-3, 6-3. Pollock and UNLV’s Joel Kielbowicz will play in Sunday’s doubles final in Decatur, Ill.
The final leg of the USTA Futures Tournament will conclude on Aug. 6-13 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
