McVeigh Tied For 69th At British Open

ST. ANDREWS, Scotland -- Danielle McVeigh, who will be a sophomore at Texas A&M this fall, fired a three-over-par 76 on Thursday and is tied for 69th place after the first round of the Ricoh Women's British Open at the Old Course.

McVeigh finished strong, posting her only birdie of the day on the famous "road hole," the 453-yard 17th.

McVeigh is nine strokes behind leader Lorena Ochoa, who posted a six-under 67.
