Blinn Receives More Recognition

Brenham -- The defending national champion Blinn College Buccaneers are picked by the conference media to finish first in the Southwest Junior College Football Conference this season.

Blinn, with 49 points, edged out Cisco Junior College who received 46 points in the conference media poll. Both teams received four first-place votes.

Navarro, Kilgore, Tyler, Trinity Valley and Northeastern Oklahoma, respectively, rounded out the poll. Navarro received one first-place vote.

Blinn, ranked third in the NJCAA pre-season poll, opens its season at home on Aug. 25 against No. 8 ranked Coffeyville (Kansas) Community College. The Bucs' conference opener is at home against Kilgore on Sept. 22.
