COLLEGE STATION, Texas— Texas A&M head football coach Dennis Franchione will welcome 105 Aggie football players to fall camp on Sunday, but he will do so without the aid of his assistant head coach and running backs coach Kenith Pope.

Coach Pope underwent minor surgery on Friday and will be sidelined for one-to-two weeks before returning to full duty.

This marks the fifth season at Texas A&M for Coach Pope as Coach Fran’s assistant head coach. This fall will mark his second year of working with the running backs after working his first three seasons in Aggieland with the wide receivers.
