TALLAHASSEE, FL -- Florida A&M University has fired basketball coach Mike Gillespie. It comes less than three months after he was charged with misdemeanor stalking.
No decision has been made on the current assistants, which
include Gillespie's son, Mike Gillespie Junior.
Associate athletic director Alvin Hollins says a committee will
be formed to hire a new head coach.
Gillespie completed his sixth season at Florida A&M by leading
the program to its first 20-win season since 1988-89 and the second
NCAA tournament berth of his tenure.
