BRYAN -- It's apparently not all a bed of roses in the Texas Collegiate League. 7 of the 9 teams in the wooden bat summer baseball league are threatening to pull out due to lost revenue this season and the league is threatening a lawsuit against the 7 clubs.
The Brazos Valley Bombers and McKinney Marshals are not among the disgruntled franchises.
Uri Geva, Co-Owner of the Brazos Valley Bombers said this afternoon, "We're excited about the 2008 season." "We have some talented players coming back next year including Casey Whitmer, John Touchton and Tyler Davis to name a few," Geva added.
"I just got out of a meeting with some Bryan city officials about improvements we can make to the Brazos Valley Bank Ballpark before next season and we're planning on playing a full 48 game schedule in the Texas Collegiate League," claimed Geva.
The Bombers enjoyed a lot of success both on and off the field this summer including making the playoffs in its inaugural season.
