Aggies Grateful For Indoor Facility

COLLEGE STATION, Texas—The Texas A&M football team worked twice on Thursday despite inclement weather.

“We were fortunate with the indoor (McFerrin Athletic Center) today with the lightning and all of the thunderstorms in the area,” Aggie Head Football Coach Dennis Franchione said. “We didn’t miss a beat and practiced in pads this morning staying inside. Tonight, we reviewed and the practice was more of a teaching segment but went outside for most of the second practice.”

When asked how important the new indoor facility has been thus far, Coach Fran’s response was one word—“Priceless!”

When asked about young defensive linemen who have caught his eye, Coach Fran mentioned Cody Williams, Paul Freeney, Amos Gbunblee and Von Miller.

The Aggies will work once on Friday.

The 5th Annual Coach Fran Charities 5K Run & Walk is scheduled for Saturday at Kyle Field. The race starts at 8:30 a.m. and participants are allowed to watch Saturday’s practice inside Kyle Field. For more information, go to CoachFranCharities.org.
