COLLEGE STATION -- Texas A&M soccer fans will get their first glimpse at the 2007 squad as it kicks off the season with the Maroon & White game on Saturday. The match is slated for 7:30 p.m. at the Aggie Soccer Stadium.
“This is a fun day for our great supporters,” A&M head coach G Guerrieri said. “They get a chance to meet, greet and eat with the players during Aggie Soccer 101 and then they get a sneak peak of the team on the field in the evening’s Maroon & White game.”
The Aggies, who return 11 starters and 15 letterwinners from the 2006 team that won its third consecutive Big 12 regular season title, will kickoff the ’07 season ranked No. 5 nationally in both the Soccer Buzz and National Soccer Coaches Association of America preseason polls.
Admission to Saturday’s scrimmage is free and parking for the match is available in lots designated 100g, 100j or 100k.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early for the Nike surplus sidewalk sale that will begin at 6 p.m.
