The Blinn football team began defense of its NJCAA national title with a win over Coffeyville Saturday.
The third-ranked Buccaneers pulled away in the fourth quarter to post the 35-to-14 decision over the eighth-ranked Red Ravens.
Terrance Cain and Zach Booker scored a pair of touchdowns apiece.
After outscoring the Red Ravens 14-0 in the fourth quarter, Blinn head coach Brad Franchione said, " I was excited about how our team faced adversity three or four times in this game and bounced back, working to get back in to the lead. I was a little worried about our maturity, and today these guys answered some questions for me."
The Bucs will not play again until September third when they visit the Abilene Christian J.V.
