Rockets Gard Alston Arrested Again On Assault Charges

NEW YORK CITY, NY -- Houston Rockets guard Rafer Alston was released without bail today in New York after being charged with stabbing a man at a Manhattan nightspot.

Police arrested Alston early yesterday on felony assault charges
after responding to a brawl at a nightclub.

A criminal complaint alleges that Alston slashed a man in the
neck.

Alston, who grew up in Queens, must return to court January 3rd.

The arrest came three weeks after Alston was charged with
misdemeanor assault and public intoxication in Houston.

Rockets general manager Daryl Morey says the team learned of
Alston's arrest today.

Morey says it's troubling that Alston was again in a situation
involving the police.

Morey says the Rockets expect all employees to represent the
organization in a first-class manner.

He declined further comment until more facts are gathered from
all parties.
