Leary On Point For Sooners

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - Junior college transfer Omar Leary will get
a chance lead the Oklahoma basketball team when the Sooners go to
Canada for four exhibition games this weekend.
Leary will start at point guard because he's the only true point
guard left on the OU roster.
Returning starting point guard Bobby Maze was dismissed from the
team in April while Austin Johnson is currently out with a back
injury.
Leary is a junior college All-American who signed with OU after
Maze was kicked off the team but he's only been on campus since
July and is still learning to work with his new teammates.
The Sooners leave tomorrow for Vancouver and will play the
University of British Columbia on Saturday then take on Simon
Fraser and Trinity Western on Sunday.
The final game is against Douglas College on Monday.
