TAMPA, Fla. -- Bruce Gradkowski's 31-yard scoring pass to
Paris Warren with three minutes remaining gave the Tampa Buccaneers
a 31-24 preseason victory over the Houston Texans.
Chris Simms spent the night walking the sideline, leaving Luke
McCown and Gradkowski to state their final cases for being Tampa
Bay's backup quarterbacks.
The top priority for both teams was keeping regulars healthy and
taking one more look at young players still trying to earn jobs.
Houston's top offseason acquisition, quarterback Matt Schaub,
Sage Rosenfels got the start and on the first drive went 5-for-5
for 63 yards, with a 3-yard TD pass to Jacoby Jones. Coach Gary
Kubiak gave him the rest of the night off.
Jared Zabransky replaced Rosenfels and played the rest of the
game. The rookie from Boise State led a touchdown drive that made
it 24-24 in the third quarter and finished 12-of-22 for 117 yards
and one interception.
