College Station - The A&M Consolidated Tigers dropped their season opener at home to Pflugerville 21 - 16 Friday night.
Consol got on the board first. Dominic Preston hit Wes Schill for a 34 yard touchdown to cap off the game's opening drive.
Pflugerville's first score came when Taylor Walls scampered in from 18 yards out. The Panthers took the lead for good on a Brandon Wilson to Jordan Huffman 42 yard touchdown pass. Wilson punched the ball in the end zone from a yard out with 13 seconds left in the first half to give Pflugerville a 21 - 10 halftime lead.
Consol scored the only touchdown of the second half in the third quarter. The Tigers drove to the Pflugerville 18 yards line for a potential game winning score but Marshall Cashion was stopped on fourth down to turn the Tigers away.
Consol will hit the field again September 8th when they take on Leander at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
