Vikes Top Cy Falls

Bryan opened the 2007 football season with a 33-to-22 win over Cy Falls Friday night at Viking Stadium.

Bryan's Monterell Washington opened the scoring by taking a hand off to his right and cutting it back up the middle 29 yards to the end zone.

Washington did a swan dive in to the end zone, drawing a penalty flag.

The Big Blue turned two more huge plays in the first half.

Stan McGruder cut back from sideline-to-sideline, racing 52 yards for a second quarter score.

Later in the second, the Vikes' Elton Holmes picked off an Eagle screen pass and rumbled all the way to the south end zone as Bryan built a 31-to-16 lead at the break.

The Vikings travel to Pflugerville next Friday.
