LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) - A solid debut from Kansas quarterback Todd Reesing.
The sophomore threw four passes tonight, leading Kansas to a
52-7 rout of Central Michigan.
Reesing, a sophomore who beat out incumbent Kerry Meier after
appearing in only three games last year, was 20 of 29 for 261 yards
and no interceptions as the Jayhawks rolled up 538 total yards.
Six different players scored touchdowns for Kansas.
Brandon McAnderson had 110 yards on 16 carries, and Jake Sharp
rushed for 106 yards, including a 3-yard touchdown.
Raimond Pendleton scored two TDs, the first on a 77-yard punt
return that put Kansas on top 28-0.
It was the first game for Butch Jones as Central Michigan's head
coach. He took over a team that went 10-4 last year and won the
Motor City Bowl.
