RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Jimmie Johnson posted his sixth win of the
NASCAR season with a victory in the Chevy Rock and Roll 400 at the
Richmond International Raceway. It's his 29th career win and second
in two weeks after winning at California Speedway last Sunday.
Tony Stewart ran second with 21-year-old rookie David Ragan
finishing third, his best finish of the year.
Jeff Gordon finished fourth with Johnny Sauter rounding out the
top five.
Dale Earnhardt Junior needed a strong finish to qualify for the
Chase for the championship but blew an engine in the final laps and
did not finish.
The 10-race Chase for the championship starts next Sunday in New
Hampshire. Johnson will be the top-seeded driver in the Chase with
Gordon second in the standings.
