A Tale Of Two Halves

AUSTIN (AP) - The first half? Ugh. The second? Brilliant.
For two quarters in a 34-to-13 win over TCU, Number Six Texas
put on the kind of performance that was expected when the season
began.
A defense that held the Horned Frogs' offense out of the endzone
and a running game that pounded out 176 tough yards answered some
of the questions that cropped up after a lackluster season-opening
win over Arkansas State.
Against Arkansas State, Texas raced to a 14-to-0 lead then had
to hold on.
Against TCU, the Longhorns were down 10-to-0 early before
rallying to a comfortable victory.
Texas' defense dominated this one, holding TCU to 251 total
yards.
That included just 34 yards and no first downs in the third
quarter when the Longhorns pulled to 10-to-10 with a 33-yard
scoring pass from Colt McCoy to Nate Jones and a field goal by Ryan
Bailey.
