Bryan -- The Bryan Vikings lost to Leander 34 - 17 Friday night at Viking Stadium.
Bryan's special teams had some trouble early in the game. A high snap that went over punter Krey Bratsen's head would give the Lions the ball at the Viking 14 yards line. Leander would score on the next play to take a 7 - 0 lead. Another miscue on a punt led to a Reggie Hodges five yard touchdown run giving Leander a 14 - 0 lead after the first quarter.
Bryan would get on the board in the second quarter when Monterell Washington ran up the middle for a ten yard touchdown. The Vikings would add a field to cut the Leander lead to 14 - 10 at the half.
Bryan would take their only lead of the game in the third quarter when Garrison Kickham hit Tre Odom with a 70 yard touchdown pass. The 17 - 10 advantage would hold up until the fourth quarter. Leander would find the end zone three times in the final period to pull away late in the game.
Bryan will be back on their home field September 21st to take on DeSoto.
