D.J. Jones leaves Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas—Incoming freshman running back D.J. Jones has decided not to enroll at Texas A&M University this fall, Aggie head football coach Mike Sherman said.

“I sat down with D.J. and we both came to the conclusion it was in his best interest to go back home and re-evaluate what it is he wants to do with his life,” Coach Sherman said. “I wish him nothing but the best and will help him anyway I can.”

There is no confirmation if his departure has anything to do with recent legal troubles. On May 18 Jones was charged with a Class A misdemeanor of property theft in Grayson County. Jones is out of jail on bond.

Jones was a 5-11, 183-pound running back from Denison High School.
