MIAMI, FL -- The 20th ranked Texas Aggie football team was hoping a national stage and undefeated record would help them regain some of the luster the program has lost over the last 10 years, but instead the nation watched as the Miami Hurricanes destroyed the Aggies 34-17 on national television.

Texas A&M turned the ball over three times in less than four minutes at the end of the first half as the Hurricanes used the Aggie miscues to turn a 14-0 lead into a 24-0 advantage.

The Aggies were able to score 17 points in the 4th quarter when the game was already decided.

Stephen McGee scored on a quarterback keeper with eight mintues to play and Jerrod Johnson hit Martellus Bennett on a 33 yard scoring strike with five seconds left.

The Aggies will be back in action on September 29 when they host Baylor in their Big 12 opener. Kickoff against the Bears will be at 11:30 a.m.
