WEST LAFAYETTE, IN -- The No. 11-ranked Texas A&M men's golf team will compete in the PING/Golfweek Preview on Saturday and Sunday at Purdue's Kampen Course, the site of the 2008 NCAA Championship.

The tournament will consist of 36 holes on Saturday and a final 18 on Sunday
on the par-72, 7,465-yard course. Live scoring is available at
www.golfstat.com.

The 15-team field includes 13 nationally-ranked teams, including six ranked
in the top 10 in the latest Golf World poll. In addition to A&M, field
includes No. 2 Alabama, No. 5 Florida, No. 6 Southern California, No. 7
Oklahoma State, No. 8 Florida State, No. 9 Charlotte, No. 14 Coastal
Carolina, No. 16 UNLV, No. 17 Arizona State, No. 18 Louisville, No. 21
Lamar, No. 25 Georgia State, Minnesota and host Purdue.

Representing A&M will be seniors Bobby Gates and Martin Piller, sophomore
Andrea Pavan, freshman Conrad Shindler and junior Clay Hodge.

"The Preview is one of the most prestigious tournaments in all of college
golf and we are extremely honored to have been selected to play," A&M Coach
J.T. Higgins said. "Purdue¹s golf course is just plain hard. It's a long
Pete Dye layout with thick rough. It brings back a lot of good memories for
me because it was the regional site where we qualified for our first NCAA
Championship back in 2004. Hopefully, we can have some more success this
week."
