Updated 10:01pm -- RB Mike Goodson, who suffered a neck injury during practice, was released from the hospital and returned to the team hotel, per the Raiders.

Updated 9:01pm The agent for injured Oakland running back Mike Goodson passed along word that his client is doing fine Tuesday evening and he was put on a stretcher and was taken to a hospital in an ambulance as a precaution.

“I commend the Raiders for responding in the manner in which they did,” agent Kennard McGuire wrote in a text message. “Mike is alert and moving his extremities. The team and Mike are taking the proper precautions.”

Goodson apparently was hurt after a helmet-to-helmet hit by linebacker Phillip Wheeler. After practice, Oakland coach Dennis Allen said Goodson had a neck injury, but he did not know the severity of it.

McGuire’s comments are very encouraging. I’m sure the exact diagnosis and timetable for Goodson will be known in the coming days.
