COLLEGE STATION- Texas A&M women's basketball hosts an exhibition game against the No. 2 team in NAIA, the Oklahoma City Stars on Sunday at 5 p.m. inside Reed Arena.
The Aggies, ranked 13th in the USA Today Coaches' Poll and 16th in the AP Poll, take the court against the 2012 NAIA National Champions, an Oklahoma City squad that they've previously faced twice in exhibition play, both of which served as introductions to A&M's last two All-Americans.
Danielle Adams went for 16 points and 10 rebounds in her first senior college action in an exhibition against Oklahoma City in 2009, a college career that ended when she took home Final Four MOP honors in 2011.Kelsey Bone scored 11 points and had nine rebounds against the Stars in 2011, in her first competition at Texas A&M before she was named an All-American in 2013.
The 2013-14 Aggies return two starters from the 2013 SEC Tournament Championship squad in SEC All-Freshman selection Courtney Walker and Courtney Williams, while College Station native Karla Gilbert looks to see a significant increase in her role during her senior season.
Jordan Jones and Curtyce Knox had an impressive showing in the Maroon and White Scrimmage at point guard, as the Aggies look to replace the NCAA Statistical Champion in Assist/Turnover Ratio, Adrienne Pratcher, who graduated in the spring.
Newcomers Achiri Ade, Tavarsha Scott and Jada Terry look to provide size and athleticism inside to offset the loss of Kelsey Bone, who graduated early to become the No. 5 pick in last season's WNBA Draft.
The Aggies' regular season starts on Nov. 11 at North Texas, before the Aggies come home to face Prairie View A&M on Nov. 13 at 7 p.m.
