BRYAN, TX -- The 2012 Texas A&M football schedule underwent some changes Wednesday. The season opener has been moved to August 30th against Louisiana Tech in Shreveport, Louisiana, at Independence Stadium. Previously the Aggies were going to open the season at home against McNeese State on September 1st.
With the season opener now on the road, the home opener will also be the Aggies' SEC opener against Florida on September 8th.
The September 22nd open date has been filled by South Carolina State and Texas A&M Director of Athletics Bill Byrne said today during his "Wednesday Weekly" that the team's 2012 open date will be October 13th and that a contract is pending for a non-conference on November 17th with the desire that it's a home game.
Currently there are just four home game slated for Kyle Field:
September 8th vs Florida
September 22nd vs South Carolina State
October 20th vs LSU
November 24th vs Missouri
There has been no movement concerning the location of the Arkansas game on September 29th. If it is moved from Cowboys Stadium to Kyle Field then it would give Texas A&M a possible sixth home game in 2012 depending what happens with the November 17th date.
