Aggie Doubles Teams Advance at ITA All-American Championships

TULSA, Okla— The true freshmen doubles team of Shane Vinsant and Harrison Adams and the sophomore tandem of Jordan Szabo and Jackson Withrow both advanced to the afternoon portion of the main draw in doubles at the ITA All-American Championships being held at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa on Friday.
Vinsant, from Keller, Texas, teamed with fellow freshman, Harrison Adams, from New Braunfels, to win their doubles match against the No. 7 seed duo of Diego Acosta and Aaron Dujovne of Purdue University. The Aggie fabulous freshmen will face the Virginia tandem of Alex Domijan and Harrison Richmond at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
Vinsant entered the main draw in singles against Chris Diaz of Ohio State but lost, 6-3, 6-1 to fall into the consolation bracket. Vinsant took a 6-4, 6-2 defeat at the hands of Mississippi State’s veteran Malte Stropp, 6-4, 6-2.
Aggie sophomores Jordan Szabo from Australia and Jackson Withrow from Omaha, defeated the Florida tandem of Billy Federhofer and Bob van Overbeek, 8-4, to advance to a 4:30 p.m. match on Friday against the Maden brothers from Clemson, Domonique and Yannick.
