COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- The Aggie football team continued spring practice this afternoon on the Coolidge Grass Practice Fields, working out for about two and a half hours.
The team is almost halfway through spring drills, today's workout was number seven of fifteen.
Unlike last season when the secondary was full of young players, this years defense may look to the defensive backs for leadership, including safety Toney Hurd, Junior.
"Coming into the spring this year we noticed we have to help find some leaders," said Hurd. "Early in the spring we've just basically we've just been trying to find new leaders, vocal leaders, people who lead by example and we have a couple of guys who have fallen into that role. Donnie Baggs, Howard Matthews, Deshazor Everett, I also have been one of the new people who have stepped into this new role and we're just trying to find leaders for the defense and for the team for next year."
The Aggies will practice for the eighth time this spring on Wednesday.
