COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- The Texas A&M football team will conduct an Aggie Football Youth Experience on Saturday, March 22 for boys and girls ages 8-to-13. Due to NCAA rules any youngster that has enrolled in the 9th grade or above will not be able to participate. This is a free clinic which will focus on fundamentals such as form tackling, ball skills, running and blocking. The goal is to develop football skills in a fun, safe and enjoyable atmosphere.
You can access the registration form and medical release waiver online at http://AggieAthletics.com/youthexperience. These forms must be filled out and returned in order to be registered. These forms can be faxed to 979-862-4136 or sent via e-mail to Janet Elkins at firstname.lastname@example.org. A confirmation will be sent by Monday, March 17th to those that qualify for registration.
In an effort to make sure each youth receives attention at the event, the Aggie Youth Experience will be capped at the first 500 to register.
Check-in will begin at 11:30 in the McFerrin Athletic Center- Gilliam Indoor Track Facility which is located to the southwest of Kyle Field. The event will start at 12:30 p.m. and last approximately one hour.
Parking – please park in Lot 62 off Wellborn Road, which is to the west side of Kyle Field.
“This state and community does so much for our football team and our overall athletic program that we would like to offer this free experience to the kids,” Aggie head football coach Kevin Sumlin said. “The youngsters have an opportunity to interact with our coaches and players. We’ve had great turnouts in the past and look for another impressive group this year.”
Participants are asked to wear tennis shoes or rubber soled shoes; they will not wear helmets or shoulder pads. Youngsters are also encouraged to wear any Texas A&M apparel and refrain from wearing gear associated with another college.
