COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- The No. 2 Texas A&M men’s golf team will be back on the greens this weekend as it travels to Alpharetta, Ga., to compete in the U.S. Collegiate Championship, hosted by Georgia Tech.

The eighth-annual tournament will take place at the Golf Club of Georgia, which also plays host to the Georgia Cup. The Lakeside Course, a par-72, 7,107-yard course, will provide the playing field for the three-day tournament that boasts 15 premier teams from across the country, 10 of which are ranked in the top 25 of the country according to GolfWeek.

“This is the best tournament of the fall season,” Texas A&M head coach J.T. Higgins said. “The Golf Club of Georgia is amazing. The tournament is run like a PGA Tour event and the field is stacked.”

The Aggies return to the links after finishing second at the Jerry Pate Intercollegiate last week. Sophomore Ben Crancer and senior Johannes Veerman tied for eighth place at the tournament while three other Aggies all finished in the top 30.

In addition to Crancer and Veerman, sophomore Andrew Lister and juniors Ty Dunlap and Greg Yates will be representing the Aggies in Alpharetta. Sophomore Adrià Arnaus will be playing as an individual.

“We know the course well and have been playing well so far this season,” Higgins said. “The course is also really similar to the last two we have played so I fell like it sets up well for us. We are excited to get back out on the road and tee it up.”

The tournament will begin Friday morning as the first participants tee off 7:50 a.m. (CT). The Aggies are paired with Duke and UCLA and will begin teeing off at 11:20 p.m. (CT). Live scoring for the event can be found at
