COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Texas A&M volleyball’s two signees, Stephanie Aiple and Ashlie Reasor, have been named to Volleyball Magazine’s “Fab 50”, a list of the nation’s top 50 high school recruits.
It is just one of many national and state accolades that have been bestowed on the highly touted Texans. Reasor and Aiple were both 2013 AVCA Under Armour All-American first-team selections, and Reasor, a 6-0 lefty opposite hitter from Reagan High School in San Antonio, was named the most valuable player of Team West at the Under Armour All-America match in December after leading West to the victory.
Aiple, a 6-1 setter from Round Rock High School who enrolled at A&M in January, was a member of the U.S. Girl’s Youth National Volleyball Team and won a gold medal at the 2012 NORCECA Girls’ Youth Continental Championship. She also was the MVP in the 18 American Gold Division at the 2013 USA Volleyball Girls’ Junior National Championships after leading her Austin Juniors Volleyball team to the gold medal.
Reasor, an All-American second-team selection by both USA Today and Volleyball Magazine, was named the 2013 Texas Girls Coaches Association 5A-4A Athlete of the Year and also was named the San Antonio Express-News Co-Player of the Year. Meanwhile, Aiple, the recipient of LoneStarVoleyball.com’s 2013 Outstanding Setter award, was the Austin American-Statesman Player of the Year.
Both Reasor and Aiple were named PrepVolleyball.com All-Americans and were listed among the website’s top 50 Senior Aces in 2013.
A&M opens its 2014 regular season August 29.
