COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Texas A&M football team held their second two-a-day practice of preseason camp on Wednesday. Weather forced the Aggies to begin their second practice inside the McFerrin Athletic Center but eventually the team was able to move practice outdoors.
Following the evening workout Texas A&M Tight Ends Coach and Special Team Coordinator Jeff Banks met with the media along with punter Drew Kaser. Banks said he is confident in his special teams group but he wants to see them in a game situation. "Until the Rice game it is going to be hard for me to be completely confident until I see it in action. We are only going to get better, I know that. I know once that Rice comes and they get their feet wet and they start getting some experience we are going to have a good season on special teams."
This is Banks first season on the Texas A&M coaching staff. He replaced Brian Polian who left the Aggie program to become the head coach at the University of Nevada.
The Aggies will open the 2013 season August 31 against Rice at Kyle Filed. The game will kick at noon and be televised on ESPN.
