COLLEGE STATION - Texas A&M's Women's Basketball Team was ranked No. 13 in the first USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll of the 2013-14 season. The Aggies were ranked 16th-or-better to start the year for the eighth consecutive year.
The USA Today notes that the Aggies "look to reload" this season, and singles out sophomores Courtney Walker and Courtney Williams, as well as transfers Tavarsha Scott and Achiri Ade as key contributors to the team.
Texas A&M faces a team that recieved at least one vote in the initial poll 12 times this season and nine times in SEC play. Tennessee (No. 4) recieved the highest ranking of any Texas A&M opponent in the preseason poll.
Texas A&M (No. 13), Baylor (No. 10) and SMU (RV) were the only schools from Texas to recieve at least one vote in the poll.
Texas A&M, who won the National Championship in 2010-11, starts its season on Nov. 3 at home in an exhibition contest against Oklahoma City. The Aggies open the regular season on Nov. 11 at North Texas.
