Aggies Host Rice to Kick Off Big Homestand

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas A&M baseball team kicks off a big week on Tuesday night when the No. 2 Aggies host No. 7 Rice in a 6:35 p.m. contest on Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park.

The Aggies enter the contest with a 28-8 record this season and are ranked No. 2 in the country by Baseball America. The Owls, meanwhile, are 27-11 overall and are co-leaders in Conference USA, alongside UCF, which has an identical 9-3 league mark.

A&M/RICE SERIES NOTABLES
The Aggies and Owls, long-time Southwest Conference foes, will meet for the 274th time on the baseball diamond Tuesday. Texas A&M holds a 177-94-2 advantage in the all-time series, however, Rice owns a 30-10 lead in the series since 1994.

A year ago, Rice earned two wins against the Aggies beginning on March 5 at the Houston College Classic at Minute Maid Park when the Owls edged the Aggies for a 1-0 victory and again on April 12 when Rice defeated A&M 2-0 at Reckling Ballpark in Houston.

UP NEXT
Texas A&M will face rival Baylor in a three-game weekend series that features a Friday night contest in College Station before the venue shifts to Baylor Ballpark in Waco for Saturday and Sunday’s contests. The Bears enter the weekend leading the Big 12 with a perfect 15-0 league record.

GAME PROMOTIONS
Baseball Bingo - Fans may take a Bingo sheet from the Diamond Darlings on the concourse and play Bingo through the plays that the Aggies make on the field.

50’s theme Night - We have some concourse decorations and would like to play 50’s music throughout the night.

Pull Out Day - The Class of 2014 Gets in FREE with a shirt that has “2014” on it. They have distributed 150 vouchers for a free hot dog and soda from the concessions stand. They are planning on sitting on the Left Field Berm and they would like to enter the park through the gate near the batting cages in left field if possible and the majority of the group will be entering the park between 6:00-6:15.
