Aggies at SMU to kickoff at 2:30 p.m. on FSN

IRVING - SMU and Conference USA announced today that the Texas A&M vs. SMU football game to be played on Saturday, Sept. 15 in Dallas at Ford Stadium on the SMU campus will be televised by FSN and kick is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. central.

The Aggies defeated the Ponies, 46-14, at Kyle Field to open the 2011 season. The last time these football teams met in Dallas was in the Southwest Conference days in 1992 with A&M winning, 41-7, before a crowd of 41,417 in a game played in the Cotton Bowl. The last time these football teams met on the SMU campus was 1990 with A&M taking a 38-17 victory at what was then called Ownby Stadium before a sold out crowd of 23,783. Aggie running back and Dallas native Darren Lewis scored four touchdowns and rushed for 207 yards while quarterback Bucky Richardson tallied 180 yards on the ground and linebacker William Thomas recorded 11 tackles that included three quarterback sacks.

The Aggies and head coach Kevin Sumlin open the 2012 campaign on the road against Louisiana Tech in a game which will be televised by ESPNU with kick scheduled for 6:30 p.m. from Independence Stadium in Shreveport, Louisiana, on Thursday, Aug. 30.

The Aggies will open the home portion of their schedule with its very first Southeastern Conference football game against the Florida Gators on Saturday, Sept. 8 with the kick time to be determined.
