COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- The A&M Consolidated Tigers scored 12 runs Thursday night in their bi-district playoff opener against Klein at Tiger Field, but it was far from enough offense as the Bearcats scored in every inning but the third and won it 22-12.
The series now switches to Klein for game two on Friday starting at 5:30. If the 2012 5A state runners up can win game two it would force a third and decisive game that would begin 30 minutes after the conclusion of game two.
Klein jumped out to a 3 nothing lead in the top of the first inning, but Consol answered with six runs in the home half of the first to take a 6-3 lead.
That lead would be short lived as the Bearcats answered with 9 runs in the 2nd.
The Tigers scored 5 runs in the 6th to cut Klein's lead to 16-12, but once again the Bearcats answered Consol's big inning with a big inning of their own scoring 6 in the 7th to win it in a run away 22-12.
