Bearkat Women Fourth at Islander Classic

The Sam Houston women’s golf team finished fourth in the weather-shortened Islander Classic in Corpus Christi. The tournament had to be shortened to two rounds after high winds.

Shelby Hardy finished tied for fifth with rounds of 79 and 74 on the 6,093 yard, par 72 course.

Conference opponents Lamar finished first and Oral Roberts was second.

Nicole Budnik and Abigayle Corson finished tied for 15th after shooting a 157. Jessica Borth was 36th with rounds of 80 and 83. Meghan Musk was 48th after rounds of 87 and 79.

Jenna Stene competed as an individual and finished 70th with rounds of 95 and 81.

The Kats next action is at Arkansas-Little Rock, March 25-26.
